South Sea Pearls

Pearls have been treasured and admired throughout the centuries. Ancient Greek, Persian and Chinese civilisations used them to adorn buildings and accessories of their rulers. Queen Elizabeth 1 had a famous fascination with them, decorating wigs and dresses with thousands of white pearls, while often wearing seven long ropes of pearls at a time.

Today, they still hold a special place in our hearts - possibly because they are the only jewel to come from a living creature and the fact that no two pearls are ever the same. They vary greatly in size, colour and shape. Experts have their own opinion, but the pearls you will enjoy the most, will be the ones you find the most beautiful.

Dracakis stock a select range of the exquisite Australian South Sea Pearls. We specialise in these because:

  • They are grown in some of the world’s cleanest water, and the cleaner the water, the better quality the pearl.
  • The South Sea pearl spends two years within its’ host oyster, evolving into an ideal size and shape.
  • Their quality and lustre are hard to surpass.
